BECOME A FAIR WAGE EMPLOYER
A collective approach to better wage practices

The Fair wage network was born with the goal to set up an interactive and dynamic process regrouping all the actors involved along the supply chain and present in the CSR arena involving NGOs, managers, workers’ representatives and researchers.

…Our scope is to ensure the coherence needed in the wage area and help to liaise the proposed fair wage approach in relation to all wage initiatives at international and national level.

The aim is gradually to move up individual factories’ wage practices, in terms of the different elements we believe should be part of the ‘fair wage’ approach.

In order to succeed, this process would require a step-by-step approach to overcome the possible difficulties involved in collecting information and avoiding a possible initial reluctance from the different stakeholders. Only by means of such a cooperative framework could the different stakeholders see the mutual benefits they could obtain from this collective approach. The Fair Wage Network represents a key step in incorporating wage issues within the CSR process and offers you:

THE POWER TO STRENGTHEN YOUR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY!

Our economically rigorous method -The Fair Wage Approach- was developed to give robust wage indicators to identify a comprehensive and overall assessment of an enterprise’s performance in the wage area. Candidate companies are provided all the necessary tools and framework to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their wage-fixing system and therefore, to correct their shortcomings in this complex field more easily.

The Fair Wage Network uses a consistent approach, which we can apply to many countries. It includes a focus on wages, along with other critical factors such as working hours, social benefits, equity, costs to workers and the opportunity for progression. This approach is inclusive, drawing on input from workers, managers and external sources.

We want to use the fair wage assessment methodology in pilots in both our own operations and supply chain, and scale this up…
